[...] The alternative - this idea of paying sales tax in every state where you make a sale - is a complicated calculation for online retailers. Sales taxes vary from state to state, and also from city to city. In my own state of Pennsylvania, our sales tax is 6%. But I pay an additional 1% for the privilege of living in Philadelphia (yes, that’s how I choose to characterize it, since it makes me feel better). The rules governing sales tax are subject to the individual charters and rules within each state or municipality - and the rates are constantly changing. [...]

I have not filed or paid since 1999. If we ALL just quit paying what the law does not require us to pay, that would have a drastic impact on the FED and the IRS!!!! The law is simple to read if we just found time to read it. You can obtain a copy of the IRC (Internal Revenue Code) from Amazon.com or through just about any book store. No matter what the IRS has on their website it is ALL lies!!!! Congress has admitted there are NO laws that require Americans to file or pay income taxes. Anything contrary to this truth is nothing less than fraud, coercion and treason!!!!!

I have an idea for an economic stimulus package…
Give everyone in America a 30% pay raise ;-) I think that would stimulate the local economies of EVERY town and City in America.
This can be done by simply telling America the truth about the income tax; there is NO Law that requires ANY ONE to file or pay income taxes!!!

26 USC 5005 Persons liable for tax.
(a) General.
The distiller or importer of distilled spirits shall be liable for the taxes imposed by section 5001(a)(1)

26 USC 5703 Liability for tax and method of payment.
(a) Liability for tax.
(1) Original liability.
The manufacturer or importer of tobacco products and cigarette papers and tubes shall be liable for the taxes imposed by section 5701.

26 USC 4401 Imposition of tax.
(c) Persons liable for tax
Each person who is engaging in the business of accepting wagers shall be liable for and pay the tax under this subchapter on all wagers placed with him.

Congressman John E. Ensign--
"I cannot point to a specific place in the law where it says you must pay income taxes."

Congressman Dan Burton—
“You are correct in your assertion that the word “liability” or terminology “liability for income taxes” is not contained in any Section of the Internal Revenue Code”

T. Coleman Andrews
Commissioner of IRS
"Maybe we ought to see that every person who gets a tax return receives a copy of the Communist Manifesto with it so he can see what's happening to him."
U.S. News & World Report May 25, 1956

Aaron Russo: "Is there a law that requires people to file a 1040?"
Congressman Ron Paul: "Not explicitly, but it's certainly implied."
Aaron Russo: "Well implied by force; but is there a law?"
Congressman Ron Paul: "I cannot cite a law, no, I cannot….you know if they think it's a law and they have all the guns; you know it's an authoritarian approach." {Taken from the movie "America: Freedom to Fascism"}

US District Court Judge James C. Fox 2003
"If you... examined [the 16th Amendment] carefully, you would find that a sufficient number of states never ratified that amendment."

Dwight E. Avis
Head of ATF
IRS House Ways and Means Subcommittee Hearings 1953
"Let me point this out now. Your income tax is 100 percent voluntary and your liquor tax is 100 percent enforced tax. Now the situation is as different as day and night. Consequently, your same rules just will not apply... "

No changes here in Florida. Everything, save for certain food items have sales tax applied down here, but we don't have an income tax, so that is the trade-off. Much doesn't vary city to city, but it does county to county. For instance, the sales tax in Volusia County (Daytona Beach) is 6% which the state level. However, if you cross over into Flagler County, the sales tax is 7% with the county taking 1% for themselves.
