Well I guess it wouldn't hurt to call the IRS's RRC phone number they have listed. By all accounts, my situation appears to be pretty cut and dry and fits the qualifications for eligibility.

I'll post here when I find out whats going on! If the original poster can tell us how they fared, that would be great too!

The IRS web site says no delays but that is not what taxpayers and tax pros are reporting. It's not even logical that they would deny it. The Service has already indicated that early indications are that 15% of returns have RRC issues - that's about 1 out of every 7 returns. You can't tell me that, with those kind of numbers, the IRS isn't taking a little longer to process those returns...

Follow up: According to one of the comments I found on another question, the IRS is taking longer to cough up the $300 than normal.

Doesn't seem to follow what the IRS's website says however. Anyone have any ideas or experience with this situation?

I had the exact question, and this does help! My situation is almost exactly the same (I was considered a dependent in 2007, but not in 2008), Turbo Tax and all.

However I did not get the $300 with my tax refund! According to Turbo Tax at the time I filed, they said also that it should be included with my refund. Any recommendations?
