Taxpayer asks:
I was told to put 1040 and my SS# on the check, which I have done in a rush (yesterday). Today I see a small notice informing me to make check out to US Treasury RATHER than IRS. I’d like to think it’s no big deal. but – I’d like to believe in Santa Claus. I await, hoping you haven’t gone on vacation now tax time is gone.
Taxgirl says:
Lose nary a minute of sleep over it. You’re fine. The government will take its money (almost) any way that they can get it.
(and PS, Santa Claus does exist. My kids swear he does – and they’re smarter than most adults I know)

why are people that are in there 70′2 & 80’s allowed to get the tax break this year and people that are on SSI not allowed to get it .this does not seem fair . I know someone that has been on SSI for 5 yrs now
Next time include the tax year, tax form, a daytime phone number, ssn, do make out the check to US Treasury
I haven’t received my rebate check and my last two numbers are 30, and I had direct deposit. So what’s up with that.
