The key in entree — when entrepreneurs or prospective small business owners see daunting obstacles, their resolve is shaken and they may hedge or defer. Granted, people are an awesomely important resource and factor, but people want to be where they maximize their economics as well — so a higher tax environment drives up the wage base, providing another small business obstacle!
For example, consider the total economic pressures of being in the Crystal City region (DC) versus Manayunk, or West Chester, NY versus West Chester, PA — this is not to imply PA is a tax friendly state; it’s just like a chess game — you need to look 7 or 8 moves ahead!
