		<description>It is about time some inequities were corrected by Congress. Good example of when compication is made more complicated, deserving folks get left out. I agree with Sean, fix the system, be it veterans and /or the tax system.</description>

		<description>Sometimes its best to back up and look at the big picture (especially when one - like me - doesn't understand all the details of the situation.)

First,  the name alone (H.R. 6081, the Heroes Earnings Assistance and Relief Tax (HEART) Act of 2008) sends the needle on my BS detector in the red. Sounds like someone spent WAY too much time trying to get political capital from applying a red, white and blue bandaid on a serious problem.

Second, why not focus on the fundamental neglect of veterans that is a national embarrassment - and fix the system - instead of complicated tax credits rife with exceptions.  This seems like four more rolls of red tape to wind around the poor men and women who temporary survived military service, not knowing they were in for a lifelong battle of bureaucracy.</description>
