I Guess Scammers Don’t Read My Blog.

I just received the following email with the header “Get Tax Refund on your VISA or MasterCard Now!” in my email today:

After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $135.50. Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 6-9 days in order to process it.

A refund can be delayed for a variety of reasons. For example submitting invalid records or applying after the deadline.

To access the form for your tax refund, please click here

Regards,
Internal Revenue Service

Remember, the IRS will NEVER send these kinds of solicitations over email. It’s a scam. Don’t fall for it! Forward the email to phishing@irs.gov and hope that those crazy people leave you alone.

Oh yeah, I got one of those too. Strangely enough, it was mal-formed. I was looking for a link to click on to see where it takes me (the kind of curiosity that computer programmers have), but they didn’t even provide a link so I was a little disappointed (in the programmer’s kind of way).
