Manish – if you were entitled to receive a check and didn’t because of a problem with a name, you should contact the IRS. Call: 1-800-829-0582, when asked for an extension enter 726.

To avoid further confusion, you should make sure that any name change is properly recorded with the Social Security Administration.

We didn’t get pur money either, even though I went and cahncged my name o ss card
IRS sucks if we owe them it doesn’t matter who’s mname is in the card..they will find you !!

when i didn’t recieve my tax rebate i called and asked why they told me that my wife’s social security number did not match her name on our 2007 tax return form, l left out her maiden name that is hyphenated i have filed like this for 16 year it has never been a problem but it seem now it is. So they told me that i can not get any of the rebate and it can’t be fixed untill maybe on my 2008 tax return.

I am pretty upset myself. I was suppose to get my stimulus check on May 9th in the amount of 1,200. And I have yet to see it!

I can’t beleive this. How is it that all these errors are accuring at the right time. This is a very strange thing to happen. But I don’t think people will be honest and turn over money they get just because it could be an error on the irs side.
