New Faces at the Helm

IRS Commissioner Mark Everson has announced the appointments of Kevin Brown and Linda Stiff as deputy commissioners beginning December 1.

Brown and Stiff replace outgoing deputy commissioners John Dalrymple and Mark Matthews.

Brown was the Commissioner of the IRS Small Business and Self-Employed (SB/SE) Division.  He will become Deputy Commissioner for Services and Enforcement, which means that he will be responsible for overseeing IRS’ four operating divisions, Criminal Investigation, and the Office of Professional Responsibility.  His replacement at SB/SE will be Kathy Petronchak.

Stiff was Brown’s Deputy Commissioner and will now serve as Deputy Commissioner for Operations Support, responsible for IRS’ human capital office, IT offices, the CFO, security, procurement and facilities.  Her replacement at SB/SE will be Brady Bennett, currently Director, Collections within the division.
