I think I'm still a registered Republican, so I may have to vote for Tancredo or Huckabee on the basis of the Fair Tax alone.

The FairTax was touted by both Tancredo and Huckabee. They spoke of the same piece of legislation (HR25 and S1025) that in this relatively short congressional session has 57 co-signers.

The next Republican show in South Carolina with have right across the street a rally hosted by The Ammericans for Fair Taxation. They are expecting close to 10,000 FairTax supporters.

Over $20 million of private funds have been spent researching all those "pie in the sky" claims stated on the FairTax website. These claims are based on solid research.

"Rep. Paul claims that he wants to do away with the “inflation tax” though it wasn’t clear to me what that actually meant. "

What he means is the fact that dollar continues to go down in value. That it is not backed by anything. He would like to put us back on a "hard currency" system. ie: The Gold standard. But doesn't have to be gold. Just having some hard material giving the money worth. He believes that the way the Federal Reserve just makes money out of thin air will be an eventual downfall for America and its economy.

If you do a search on youtube for "Ron Paul Federal Reserve" you will find a LOT of information. Just to get you started, this is a great one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4kxTkhwR_Q
