Oops, They Did It Again
And again, apparently. In what can only be described as a monumental oversight… There was an interesting story on CNN.com today about officials at the University of South Florida who misplaced or failed to deposit hundreds of thousands of dollars for more than ten years.
Tragic, sure, for the school. But what about the donors? Depending on when the checks were written, they might have been wrongfully included as charitable deductions on the respective tax returns. Hopefully, the Service doesn’t audit those returns…
