Work With Taxgirl
Speaking, media & collaborations
Taxes are complicated. Talking about them doesn’t have to be.
I’m Kelly Phillips Erb — tax attorney, writer, speaker, and the person behind Taxgirl®. For more than 20 years, I’ve been explaining tax law, policy, and the stories behind the numbers to taxpayers, tax professionals, lawyers, journalists, and just about anyone willing to listen.
Whether you’re looking for a speaker, an expert source, a podcast guest, or a collaborator, I’d love to hear what you have in mind.
Speaking & Events
I speak regularly at conferences, professional events, law schools, universities, webinars, and continuing education programs.
My presentations can be tailored for tax, accounting, and legal professionals or broader audiences, and I present programs that qualify for CLE and CPE credit.
Topics I regularly speak about include:
- Tax law and policy
- IRS enforcement, compliance, and taxpayer issues
- Tax controversy
- Estate and tax planning
- Tax scams, fraud, and financial crime
- Tax issues in the news
- Making sense of complicated or changing tax rules
I’m available for keynotes, panels, moderated conversations, webinars, and other live and virtual events.
Have something else in mind? Ask. Some of my favorite presentations have started with, “We have this idea…”
Media & Interviews
Need someone who can explain a complicated tax story without making your audience wish they’d changed the channel?
I’ve spent much of my career translating tax law into plain English. I’m available for television, radio, podcasts, print and digital interviews, and expert commentary on breaking tax news and broader tax and financial topics.
My commentary and work have appeared in or on outlets including CNN, CNBC, NPR’s Marketplace, the BBC, Reuters, Time, Esquire, Martha Stewart Living, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and others.
I previously served as a senior writer at Forbes and as a staff writer and Insights & Commentary Team Lead at Bloomberg Tax.
Journalist or producer on deadline? Please say so when you get in touch.
Partnerships & Collaborations
I’m open to working with organizations and brands on projects that make sense for Taxgirl and the people who read, watch, and listen to my work.
That might include:
- Sponsored or partner-supported content
- Educational campaigns
- Events and webinars
- Podcast collaborations
- Interviews and conversations
- Special projects
- Other creative ideas that fit the Taxgirl audience
Trust matters to me. Any collaboration has to make sense editorially, professionally, and for my audience. I don’t promote something simply because someone is willing to pay for it.
If you have an idea that involves taxes, money, law, financial crime, or helping people better understand any of the above, I’m interested in hearing it.
A Little About Me
I’m a tax attorney with more than 25 years of experience and the creator of Taxgirl®, a tax-writing brand I’ve been building for more than two decades.
In addition to writing and speaking, I’m a managing shareholder at The Erb Law Firm, P.C. (Erblaw), where my practice includes tax and estate planning, wills and trusts, tax compliance and controversy, and domestic and international tax matters.
My work has been recognized by the International Tax Review’s Global Tax 50, the Philadelphia Business Journal’s “40 Under 40,” Main Line Today’s “Power Women,” the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the National Association of Enrolled Agents.
