What Not To Ask The Taxgirl

Taxpayer asks:

Hi!

How much is the tax on alcohol in the UK. I live in the Philippines and am looking to import beer etc here and am wondering what the saving would be on various beer, cider and spirits.

Thank you.

Taxgirl says:

You guys know that I love to help you out when I can but this is a great example of a question that I just can’t answer… It’s just well outside of my bailiwbaliick.

I cannot answer international questions and most state and local questions on the blog (unless there’s a specific federal tax or tax policy tie in). If you need help with an international or state specific tax question, I recommend contacting a local tax pro.

For more information about what to ask (and what not to ask), check out my “ask the taxgirl” policy here.

Like any good lawyer, I need to add a disclaimer: unfortunately, it is impossible to offer comprehensive tax info over the internet, no matter how well researched or written. And remember, I love my readers but having me bookmarked on your computer doesn’t make you a client: before relying on any information given on this site, contact a tax professional to discuss your particular situation.
