The Walmart Foundation is providing free federal and state preparation for qualified taxpayers through the support of the MyFreeTaxes partnership. The MyFreeTaxes Partnership is easy, safe, secure, and 100 percent free. It’s supported by the Walmart Foundation in cooperation with Goodwill Industries International, National Disability Institute, and United Way Worldwide.
The MyFreeTaxes Partnership campaign is now in its fifth year. Since its inception, the online and in-person tax preparation and filing services have helped 4.5 million families claim nearly $6 billion in tax credits and refunds since 2009.
If you qualify, MyFreeTaxes Partnership can provide easy, fast secure federal and state tax by offering two ways to file:
- Online through its software partner, H&R Block At Home®. To qualify for free online filing at www.MyFreeTaxes.com, individuals and families must have combined incomes of $57,000 or less.
- Local in-person tax preparation and filing assistance at free local tax help centers (find a free center near you using the zip code tool) or call 2-1-1 to schedule an appointment. If you need help filing your federal and state taxes in person, consider:
- 100 United Way and 28 Goodwill led community-based Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) efforts for individuals and families with combined incomes of $50,000 or less; or
- 10 National Disability Institute led American Job Center region (formerly One-Stop Career Centers) efforts across the country where on-site tax coaches will help individuals and families with incomes of $57,000 or less file for free using MyFreeTaxes.com.
Additionally, MyFreeTaxes expects to assist 210,000 people with disabilities to file their taxes for free.
