My inbox has been filled with folks wanting to know when the IRS would begin mailing rebate checks and how the order would be determined. Well, wait no more. The IRS has released a statement explaining the order of the rebate checks. The order is as follows:

My husband died last April. He was on SS disability as well as drew a pension. I worked for a marketing firm. I filed income tax jointly as usual listing him first. His SS# ends in 00. Mine in 92. I received a notice from the IRS that I was entitled to $300. I don’t understand why not $600. Also, what SS # would they go by since apparently Im not getting anything for him?

1-800-829-1040 Press 2 and then 3. You will hear music and eventually a IRS rep. will pick up……you may be on hold for awhile though.

I filed a joint return in February with my husband’s name & ssno. first as we have for nearly 50 years. He passed away Mach 24, 2008. I have inquired on the irs net and was told we didn’t make anough to be eligible. He had social security and I had social security and ret. We received tax refund but no stimulus check. I should have been eligible for $300. Who should I call to find out about this????
