C’mon, Once More With Feeling…
The D.C. Circuit has rejected Marrita Murphy’s petition for rehearing en banc with respect to her tax matter. The initial ruling in the case shocked the tax community but was subsequently overturned and became the center of controversy as the lawyer for Ms. Murphy (David Colapinto) visited a tax blog or two to comment.
TaxProf has pointed out that the case now has its own Wikipedia entry. I must say, despite my vow to leave the case alone, I can’t help but wonder who started that entry…
Now that you mention it, I can’t help but wonder either.
I’m going to have to look over that decision a bit more carefully. Looks like a lot to chew on.
