Initial reports indicate that 32 people were arrested on Wednesday morning as part of protest to mark the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq.
As initially reported, the protesters blockaded the IRS building as a statement in protest of the use of tax dollars to fund the war. I am not sure how many protesters actually showed up for the tax protest nor whether the activists feel that their efforts were successful.
My emails to the protest headquarters for more information were not returned.
This feels like a very scary beginning…
The “people” have protested before in various ways. The times that I remember, the administrations were not led by folks who flaunted law or smirked at polls by saying “So” when told the majority felt the war wasn’t worth it.
Those administrations sadly, were in power during Kent State. This administration is unbelievably sicker than that one! Widespread protests, patriotic protests btw (I read the comments on your other, referenced post), could result in scary consequences from a power that just doesn’t have a real conscience about the welfare of the American people.
Its also snowing here and I am sick and tired of it and I blame the administration.
