Where In The World Is Taxgirl? (Sick Kid Edition)

No, it’s not some wacky game that I’ll be playing a la Matt Lauer. I just wanted to offer a quick word of explanation since I’ve been a little bit absent this past week… It’s a combination of my daughter’s illness, my own bout with a bug and the general ramp up for tax season, including a few interviews and the basic tax articles that I’ve been writing for AOL’s WalletPop. You can catch the feed for those in the sidebar (Dad, that means look here –>).

    I hope things are going well for your young one. I just had a godchild ask me about having children (knowing that she has Factor 5). What could I have said. She knew that I had no children due to inherited disease. And she wanted to know whether she should go for a tubal ligation (she is not allowed to do any more birth control) or take a chance.

    We discussed my happiness, and she found that I have a WHOLE bunch just because she’s there (and also her sister, who is also my godchild).

    I guess what I’m trying to say is, I understand.

    It’s tough when you get to reproductive age and are trying to decide. I still think I made the right choice.

    Anyway, that’s my comment.
