Keep this in mind: I don’t sell Viagra. I wouldn’t know how to buy Canadian meds on the internet if my life depended on it. I don’t care about your sex life. I have no p0rn tapes to sell. And I definitely don’t have free time to sit around thinking about chatting with anyone. So if you receive spam that purportedly comes from Kelly Phillips Erb, taxgirl, or any variation thereof, I am really sorry. But it’s not me.

Since this is the internet, that means data and privacy can be complicated. Here’s what you need to know about data and privacy on the site:

Analytics

I use Google Analytics (via Site Kit by Google) to understand how visitors find and use the site — things like which pages get read, how people got here, and general traffic patterns. This helps me figure out what to write more of (and what to retire to the archive). Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data like your approximate location, device and browser type, and pages visited. It does not collect your name or email address through this tool. Comments

When you leave a comment on the site, the site collects the data shown in the comments form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection (I use Akismet to protect against spam). If you leave a comment on the site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year, but the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows me to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users who register on the website (for example, to post a job), the personal information you provide in your user profile will be stored. Cookie Consent
