I thought I’d offer my pop culture-laden response to the Tax Lawyer’s post where he says:
Frankly, I don’t know anyone who knows anyone who knows Kevin Bacon . . . but I did see the movie Diner three times.
Sure you do, me! And here’s my connection:
1, Kevin Bacon, who you may now realize I adore, usually does terrific work. He did, however, make what I consider a horrific career move by appearing in a movie called Wild Things which starred a number of big names – and not so big ones.
2, Kevin Bacon’s co-star in that movie was a slightly crazy chick named Denise Richards. Denise played a character named Kelly (hmmm).
3, Denise Richards made news for being involved in a nasty, nasty custody dispute with Charlie Sheen, her now ex-husband.
4, Charlie Sheen stars in the popular CBS TV show, Two and a Half Men, along with Jon Cryer.
5, Jon Cryer was not only my high school crush for his work as Duckie in the classic Pretty in Pink, he also starred in a teen-aged flick called Hiding Out, made in the 1980s.
6, Taxgirl, a huge Jon Cryer fan in the 1980s, was an extra in that film – I’m the second floutist from the middle in the big finale. The film was largely shot near my hometown – in fact, all of the school shots are from my parents’ high school! My friend introduced me to Jon during rehearsals; originally, he called out my name during filming and I ignored him, assuming that he couldn’t possibly be talking to me (so yes, he clearly thought I was a goober). I finally did meet him, managed not to have a heart attack and got his autograph.
So, there you have it… Taxgirl’s Six Degrees of Separation from Kevin Bacon. Do you have one?
Kelly-
You asked for it!
1. Kevin Bacon is married to
2. Kyra Sedgwick, star of TNT’s THE CLOSER, who guest-starred on a 1985 episode of MIAMI VICE, which starred
3. Don Johnson (who according to an interview on THE TONIGHT SHOW hit on her during filming), who also starred in the series NASH BRIDGES. During the first few years of its run the regular cast of NASH BRIDGES also included as one of Nash’s ex-wives
4. Annette O’Toole, whose first husband was a fellow actor she met while doing a play at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego named
5. Bill Geisslinger, whose first cousin is
6. Robert D Flach
I could probably find another 6 “degrees” – having Nettie on the list makes it easy.
Actually I could go it without Nettie – from Don Johnson I can say “NASH BRIDGES featured the recurring character Angel who was played by . . .
4. Tracey Walters, who was originally from Jersey City, NJ. Before making the move to Hollywood and a career in movies and television he worked during the tax season for local accountant
5. James P Gill, who later employed and became the mentor of
7. Robert D Flach

You’re a crazy chick for posting this Kelly. I know you, so I guess I’m 7 degrees away. Whoo-hoo!
here’s my degrees….

😉
1. Kevin Bacon an actor I have no recollection of ever having seen, but
2. He has the same last name as Bacon, a food I frequently eat for breakfast.
There you go — two degrees!
Urb
Robert, well done!
Colleen, am on my way over to your site now…
And Urbie, that made me laugh out loud. And crave bacon.
Jumping off of Roberts list up to #3 for Don Johnson…
#4 I knew Don Johnson’s grandma, as she lived down the road from my parents (and Don went to a rival high school) AND his brother is married to my uncle’s widow (and neighbor to my family).
Convoluted enough for you? 😀
