Joan Collins has expressed her outrage at a fraud scheme which has been confirmed by the UK involving children’s charities. The charity in question was founded by Trevor England, 60, of Carmarthenshire, and Mary Johnson, also 60, of Warrington, who were both were jailed after a judge heard they stole more than £500,000 (as of today, about $985,000 US) from donations. The charity involved Swansea-based Catch, founded by England and Johnson.
Ms. Collins, the star of the television show Dynasty (my mom was a big fan) was not involved in running the charity but did lend her celebrity to the cause. She said in a statement:
I’m shocked and saddened that a charity I believed was benefiting needy children could have been so badly abused.
