Two years ago, I wrote my very first piece for Forbes. The article, titled Tax Amnesty Works Without Big Brother, was the result of criticisms I had levied at the PA Department of Revenue for its heavy-handed treatment of taxpayers as part of the Commonwealth’s amnesty program. The amnesty program, which ran in 2010, went…
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt on a lot of things, especially when it comes to taxes. It is, after all, easy to rely on the advice of others – tax professionals – and make bad choices. In fact, a lot of what I do involves helping people get out of…
If you following me on social, you know that I returned to Forbes as of January 2023. You can find my latest articles on Forbes.com here. Some—but not all—of the articles are behind a paywall. Must have been a slow news day. I guess covering the REAL non-mainstream candidates would be asking too much from the CNN. I realize that these filler pieces are necessary, but it’s somewhat insulting to candidates who are actually running but can’t even get their named mentioned on the air.
Also, at what point do the candidate’s positions actually become the headlines of the news. Instead, 80% of the coverage is where so-and-so went, who so-and-so talked to today, and the latest gaffe or gossip. In 6-months or even 24 hours from now, is any of that even relevant?
Sadly, there is no relief on the horizon.
