FREE Tax Help From IRS Today

All across the US today, the IRS will be offering free tax help on what they’re calling “Super Saturday.”

Taxpayers who earn $42,000 or less in 2008 are eligible for free tax return preparation. Local offices will be open from 9 am to 2 pm to prepare returns and answer questions. For a list of what you might need to bring, check out my suggestions or visit the IRS web site.

Regardless of income, Super Saturday is also an opportunity for taxpayers who have a tax issue or are unable to pay their tax bill to discuss repayment options. Other services are also available.

To find a local office, call 1.800.906.9887. You can also search for a local office online at www.irs.gov.

And if you don’t want to go by the IRS offices, there is free help for all taxpayers available by phone – on a Saturday no less. IRS customer service telephone lines, 1-800-829-1040, will be available on Super Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm to answer tax questions.
