You can say goodbye to those creepy ads… Pennsylvania’s tax amnesty program ends today (June 18).
Those taxpayers who chose to participate can avoid penalties and will pay only half the interest. Those taxpayers who didn’t participate will not only have the normal penalties and interest but will get an additional 5% penalty. Even worse? Big Brother might post the names of tax delinquents on the Department of Revenue website.
Unlike New Jersey, which pulled in more than three times the amount expected, Pennsylvania hasn’t yet achieved its goal. As of yesterday, the state was about $10 million short of its $190 million goal.
