Where’s my refund?

April 26, 2008 · 2 comments

Whew. Tax Day has come and gone. Maybe you’re waiting on a refund – not the rebate (that’s something different) – but a refund.

If at least 28 days has passed since you filed, you can check with the IRS to find out the status of your refund.

You can:

Call the IRS Refund Hotline at 1-800-829-1954
or
Visit the IRS web site’s “Where’s my refund?” feature

You’ll need to have on hand:

1, Social Security Number (or ITIN)
2, Filing status (Single, Married Filing Joint Return, Married Filing Separate Return, Head of Household, or Qualifying Widow(er))
3, Exact refund amount shown on your return

Good luck!
