Irs.gov Breaks Own Record

Kelly Phillips ErbApril 20, 2006November 14, 2019

The IRS announced that there were more visits to its web site, www.irs.gov on April 17, 2006, than any other single day in the past. The number of visits reached 3,385,936 as compared to the prior record of 3,337,300 visits on April 15, 2005.

But the rush isn’t over yet: the IRS reminds us that taxpayers expecting a refund can easily check on its status by clicking “Where’s My Refund?” on the site. This feature had been used more than 24 million times since January 1, 2006.
