The Happiest People In The World Are Accountants & Lawyers

Kelly Phillips ErbSeptember 27, 2007

Okay, so you know that’s not true.

But surprisingly, many accounting firms and a couple of law firms made Fortune’s List of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2007.

Google made the top of the list – so maybe it’s more fun to be a tech geek pulling in tons of dough – but also notable on the list:

Alston and Bird
Ernst and Young
Arnold and Porter
Plante and Moran
Nixon Peabody
PricewaterhouseCoopers – though I think they should lose points just for having such a ridiculously long name
Perkins Coie

And an honorary tax mention to:

Intuit (who I’m including despite the fact that their press and marketing company can’t ever get it together enough to respond to a couple of emails that I’ve sent)

Doh! You sucked me in with that headline. As a former attorney, I was about to vehemently disagree. 🙂

Every Perkins Coie attorney I run into (there are a lot of them in Seattle) tells me it is a great place to work. But I like where I work better, I think. . . .the lawyers I work with are actually quite happy.
