You can pray for McCain’s gas tax holiday. You can walk more. You can carpool. Or you can consider not driving a car that takes $100 in gas to fill up…
After my post about going green, a reader – and fellow attorney – sent me a link to a memo that he prepared on hybrids. You can download it here as a pdf.
Thanks Brad!
Of course, you can telecommute… and it’s not just us freelance writers, bloggers, and editors who can do this… it’s sometimes possible to talk your corporate employer into a day or two at home each week.
I sincerely believe that if we can get enough people to park their vehicles and say , I’m not paying that for gas just so I can work to pay for gas to get to work. Then this government and the Oil industrie would have to take note. TO HERE AND NO FURTHER.
I filled up my husband’s car for 3.19, now, 4 days later its 3.30. I have children and work like everybody else. Just like the other reader, we fill up the car to go to work, get paid, to use all the money we make on gas. It effects food prices, house gas, energy bills. I would love to park the car. The gas makes it hard for people to afford food, and a house payment. Its getting worse and more still to come. feeding the family, you can’t like they should eat. What is going on, and who is doing this? People can’t even live anymore, stress over a $10.00 birthday present. My nerves are gone with bills and the gas prices are getting worse. You have to have 3 jobs just to survive, then no time with the kids. Its a horrible situation. Who can help us? Certainily not the government or the would have stopped this along time ago.
What are we allowing?!!! We have hybrids, alternative fuels, etc etc., but the government is preventing access 2 them. Watch the discovery channel and see what it has 2 say. God help a group of people that are ripping off Americans. I don’t get it! Billions of dollars in profits but it is all necessary. How can that be? Someone please explain it to me.
I agree with a lot of these comments.
One of the reasons that we chose to live where we do is because I do not wish to be dependent upon gas prices to do everything… It’s bad enough that it’s driving up prices on food and necessities.
it’s an election year, that may have something to do with it.
I am a huge volunteer in my community but think twice before I need to drive to do it these days.
