BlogHer Ads & Load Times

Kelly Phillips ErbJuly 2, 2009May 17, 2020

I’ve received some negative feedback about the video ads currently running on the BlogHer sidebar. Apparently, they are significantly slowing load times. I’ve contacted BlogHer and they will be removed shortly. As always, I truly appreciate your feedback, thanks for letting me know!

Another option if you never want to see those movies again:

I run Firefox WITHOUT the flashplayer add-on and with Adblock Plus and NoScript. Almost nothing can get through that combination. Most ads simply appear as blank spaces on websites.

When I want to run flash (e.i. YouTube), I open use intenet explorer.

you can ask BlogHer to only use static ads on your site so they don’t slow your load times. i’d hate to see you lose your revenue!

The video ad I saw yesterday not only slowed things down, there was no sound. I couldn’t figure out what they were talking about.

Ads don’t bother me unless they slow things down.
