I only have fellowship income not reported on W-2. Do I qualify for Making work pay credit? Do I have to file Schedule M?

Should I mail my tax return on the Friday government shuts down on April 8th, 2011 or wait until tax day April 18th? Trying to figure out the best way that it does not get lost in the fray. If the U.S. Post Office shuts down, I would rather have it stay/lay in my local post office rather than have it lost in the system along the way. It’s going to Fresno, CA for a refund. I can wait for my return as long as it takes these knuckleheads to pass a budget. Thank you for all your help! 🙂

Opps! The post office is private now and no tax dollars fund it so they will carry on as usual. I had forgotten they went private. No government shutdown…….at least for 8 days. Talk about kicking the can down the road…..
