Will Trump Release Tax Returns?

Kelly Phillips ErbApril 29, 2011May 19, 2020

In the midst of all of this birther nonsense, one man has been fixed in the spotlight and it’s not President Barack Obama. It’s Donald Trump.

As you know, Trump has been at the forefront of the birther movement as of late and has taken credit for the release of Obama’s long-form birth certificate. At the time he was pushing for the release, the presidential hopeful tied the release his tax returns to the release of Obama’s birth certificate. It’s clearly the rich and powerful version of “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.” The exchange was with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.

To be clear, I don’t give a whit about Trump’s tax returns. It won’t change my life one way or the other. But since Trump threw down this transparency gauntlet, it will be interesting to how he responds now.

What a maroon. But it’s just as well he’s doing it — this guarantees that he will get zero votes from Democrats and independents — and without the latter, you’re toast. Maybe he’s really Obama’s secret weapon! 😀

However, then there is the “evidence” on the web that the long form of the birth certificate is nothing but a fraud. Wonder why we aren’t seeing that on the forefront of the news?
