For the second time in so many months (remember the debt ceiling deadline debacle?), Congress has thrown up its hands and walked away.
After failing to reach a workable compromise on the payroll tax cut extension, members of the House left town for the holidays. The payroll tax cuts are set to expire before the end of the break, on December 31, 2011.
But *gasp* there’s still work to be done. You and I know that in the real world, you just don’t leave when there’s work to be done.
You and I also know that Congress doesn’t live in the real world.
