Biden’s Frosty Exchange Over Taxes

Last week, Vice President Joe Biden was in Milwaukee when he stopped in at Kopp’s Frozen Custard (not ice cream!) for a quick bite. After getting a cone, the vice president asked, “What do we owe ya?” The store manager replied, “Don’t worry, it’s on us. Lower our taxes and we’ll call it even.” Biden’s response made the news when he said, “Why don’t you say something nice instead of being a smartass all the time? Say something nice.”

As it turns out, the exchange was a lot less dramatic than it was painted in the press. Despite characterizations that made it sound like the two were close to blows, it wasn’t the least bit heated. I’m giving it a PG rating. You can watch it here:
