Because I Said So…

I often get asked about holographic wills. Holographic wills are wills that you write yourself – and they are legal in Pennsylvania (with some caveats). One of the more amusing holographic wills that I have seen lately comes to me courtesy of the Wills, Trusts and Estates Prof Blog (I teach Wills & Trusts at Community College of Philadelphia for their ABA approved Paralegal Program.).

Here’s a link to a certified copy of a holographic will actually admitted to probate. Please note that it will open as a pdf, not html. My favorite part, beyond his referring to his wife as getting more “fleshy” is when he admonishes his boys not to tell anyone how much he left them… Enjoy!

The above link to the Texas holographic will seems to be dead, but this should work: http://web.archive.org/web/20060307150659/http://professorbeyer.com/Wills_Course/Brugger_Will.pdf
