Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day: My Kids Tell All

April 24, 2008 · 3 comments

My five year old daughter offers this perspective on my job:

What do I do?
You do taxes and stuff.

What are taxes?
Taxes are faxes.

What are faxes?
The taxes.

What do I do at my job?
Talk, I think. Feed Lyle (that’s our dog). Cook dinnner.

For my job?
Uh-huh.

Do you think my job is interesting?
Umm. No.

What do you want to be?
An artist. Actually a princess.

Anything else you want to say?
No.

She is a girl of few words.

My three year old daughter offers this additional insight:

What I do I do for my job?
Hug me.

What else?
Stay with me.

What about taxes?
Taxes. You do taxes and have cake.

(Hmm, apparently, I have a pretty good gig!)

What do you want to be?
Azalea Princess and a cooker and a thrower of balls.

(We were recently in NC for the Azalea Festival – hence the princesses.)

Enjoy your kids today (and every day!).

Exactly where is this cake?

Haha, cake. That’d be nice.
Apparently, in addition to doing taxes, you also find time to write about Wesley Snipes!

Well, Snipes is certainly the biggest tax evader case to come by in awhile… It’s big news!
