While Wesley Snipes continues to film in Namibia, one of two men indicted with him was scheduled to appear in a Florida federal court today.
Eddie Ray Kahn, the founder of Guiding Light of God Ministries and American Rights Litigators, was indicted last month on charges related to promoting tax evasion schemes. He had previously been reported as having fled the country; he was located in Panama this week, subsequently detained and returned to his home in Florida. Unfortunately for him, the U.S. apparently does have an extradition treaty with Panama.
There is no such extradition treaty between the U.S. and Namibia, where Snipes remains a fugitive. Federal officials have said they are negotiating with Snipes’ attorneys to have him surrender.
