Fix The Tax Code Friday: Cigarette Tax

Kelly Phillips ErbOctober 19, 2007

Well here is my comment, you all hit the nail on the head. Who do the smokers complain to? The so called LAND OF THE FREE, and FREEDOM OF CHOICE. The elected officials that are suppose to be working for the people are doing something besides that. I was raised to love your country, vote it is the only thing we supposedly have left. That is not always true either. What has happened to all of the people’s rights. I believe the change is going to happen, and Obama will, with his cabinet, make some changes and hopefully some good ones. It is really lower than whale poop to hike the taxes on the cigarettes. People have the right to choose. The government is almost as bad as the pay day loans on the super crazy interest rates. But we have the choice of whether we want to pay the ridiculous interest. I just think our leaders really messed the smokers. This should have been voted on. We all basically all poor folks and smokes are the only way to cope with everyday living. Not the best way, but we use to be able to afford a pack of smokes. I believe that is all I have to say about that. I think we all need to say a prayer for everybody!!!!!
