The House of Representatives has voted to repeal $18 billion of tax breaks for oil and gas producers, as expected. The bill passed by a vote of 236-182.

The bill now heads to the Senate, where it will be more difficult to get a win. Even if it does pass in the Senate, the White House has threatened a veto.

Big Oil is not in business to consider the interests of the lowly taxpayer/gas customer but rather the shareholder of whatever nation or interest. Wouldn’t it seem reasonable for B.O. to ask their shareholders to reinvigorate their strained cash flow? Such opinions are hard to grasp among those who stonewall Exxon’s Valdez settlement and can’t be bothered with explaining retirement packages of four hundred million tax packages($400,000,000) to those in question.
