As tax rebate checks are slowly (with a huge emphasis on slowly) making their way to taxpayers, Congress is considering a second round of relief. This relief would be targeted to homeowners facing foreclosure as well as increased spending on bridges, roads and transit systems.
There may be renewed interest in foreclosure relief because of recent information that 2 million children will be directly impacted by the current crisis. I have to say, as a mother of three small children, my heart goes out those parents who are facing difficult times as a result of the crisis. As a taxpayer, however, I don’t want my dollars funneled to government “relief efforts” to resolve the problems, much of which is directly the result of poor choices by homeowners and no oversight of greedy, uncontrolled lenders.
As for bridges, roads and transit? Yes, let’s fix our transit systems. Maybe then we won’t be quite so reliant on the need to fix bridges and roads… But now? In a fiscal crisis? Exactly how would that help our economy immediately?
It sounds a little FDR-ish, don’t you think?
President Bush opposes a second plan of any kind, choosing a wait and see approach. However, Democrats note that the Iraq war is adding about $12 billion to $15 billion to the deficit each month, with no end in sight. They argue that more money should be spent here in the US to fix the current problem.
What do you think?
I think that it is very simplistic reasoning to say that people are losing their homes because of their poor choices and greedy lenders. There are many, many reasons why so many people are losing their home. People should not lose their homes because they make a poor choices.
a second stimulus package for people who truly need it is a great idea! of course these individuals would have to be tax paying middle and lower class families. we all make bad choices so lets not let the foreclosure victims due without this aid. honestly i would much prefer tax dollars and government aid help out right here on these shores instead of abroad. we have been dumping tens if not hundreds of billions of dollars into the war and reconstruction efforts over there and for what? the majority of the muslim population hates the u.s.a. and wants us the hell out of there! how long have we been pouring money into africa and their problems of starvation and other health crises. those people will not take the initiative to oust their leaders that make all their misery possible and also we probably will not see any of that money back! its time our government be concerned with the people of americas pain and suffering and quit trying to rescue the rest of the world! also, everyone that is paying taxes should be thrilled to death that uncle sam is giving a little bit back for a change!
So you dont want your tax dollars to be fiundle to the needy in the usa but i bet you are for the ewar in iraq i wonder where that money is coming from there atre children out of doors now because of this mess we are in ,nobody said these people are perfect i say buy every one of them a house.

Joseph –
That’s not a fair statement at all. I do believe in helping the needy – I just disagree on what “needy” may mean.
As for Iraq, you couldn’t be more wrong. While my brother is career military and I love and support him (as I support all of our military), I happen to think we have no business being in Iraq.
Rebecca-
I don’t think that everyone who is in foreclosure made a poor choice. But when you look at the statistics, those statistics do support the idea that many, many folks bought more house than they could afford.
When my husband and I bought our house, we were offered a mortgage for THREE times the amount we ended up spending. THREE times. We chose not to because we did not want to end up in a situation – one day – where we had more house than we could afford.
Friends of ours – more than I can count – opted for super pricey homes. You know the ones – in the cul de sacs with enormous (unfinished) “great” rooms and three to four car garages. When job situations changed, they could not unload those homes because they were over-priced to begin with. In one situation, my friend’s neighbor burned down his $750k home – he is very middle class and had way more home than he needed.
When I was looking for an apartment, my mother told me that I should never spend more than 25% of my income on housing. If you make $50k per year, that same logic would support a mortgage of no more than $1k per month – or just over $150k house. Yet I know plenty of folks making between $50k-$100k spending more than $5k per month on mortgage expenses alone – not including real estate taxes, insurance and utilities.
If you make bad decisions, I don’t judge. I make plenty. I do, however, resent having my money bail you out.
As to the lenders, there are plenty of greedy lenders – and why should the government bail them out for overextending credit when they knew better? In my line of work, I see it every day. Before the “crisis”, I regularly had clients whose banks talked them into ARM when they clearly could not afford it.
So, I agree that it’s simplistic to say that those things “caused” the problem. But they have certainly contributed to it in a big, big way.
i believe in the second stimulus payment if it is to help homeowners in foreclosure. my husband and i fall under that, we are the parents of 4 children and with the outragous payment we have we are severly hurting. i believe the government should step in and help us out. they help the lazy ass people who sit on their ass every day and collect state aid why not help out the ones who actually work for a living. my husband and i both have jobs and im sick of feeling like that is a punishment. all we here is oh you have a job well then u make to much money we cant help you.they will sure help out the ones not getting offf their ass and getting a job and popping out kid after kid.
Kelly, I also bought a house that was less than the mortgage company offered to loan us. And I understand what you are saying about people buying houses they really could not afford. However, I don’t think that is the majority of the problem. I would suspect that the majority of people being foreclosed upon are in very modest homes who had little choice in properties to purchase and less choice in loan companies.
I do agree that greedy mortgage companies have contributed to this and I have no sympathy for them either. I also don’t like the idea of tax dollars going to these mortgage companies but I would rather that than than people lose their homes.
I don’t pretend to have any answers as to what we as a whole should be doing, but I do believe that the problem is much, much bigger than poor choices and even bigger than greedy lenders.
By the way, I have been reading your blog for a bit now and really enjoy it. I feel badly that the first time I posted was to disagree 🙂
O.K. So let’s borrow some more money from China and let our grandchildren pay for it. How about just pulling out of Iraq just like we invaded it. JUST DO IT. Then abolish the Federal Reserve and the IRS and “WE” WOULD have plenty of money to rebuild our own Nation for a change and leave the rest of the world to fend for themselves. Just a thought; not a sermon.

“We are completely dependent on the commercial banks. Someone has to barrow every dollar we have in circulation, cash or credit. If the banks create ample synthetic money, we are prosperous; if not, we starve. We are absolutely without a permanent money system. When one gets a complete grasp of the picture, the tragic absurdity of our hopeless position is almost incredible, but there it is. understood and the defects remedied soon.”

It is the most important subject intelligent persons can investigate and reflect upon. It is so important that our present civilization may collapse unless it becomes widely
understood and the defects remedied soon.”

The Federal Reserve-A Corrupt Institution
“Mr. Chairman, we have in this Country one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks, hereinafter called the Fed. The Fed has cheated the Government of these United States and the people of the United States out of enough money to pay the Nation’s debt. The depredations and iniquities of the
Fed has cost enough money to pay the National debt several times over….”

We can bash all the reasons for why we are in the pickle we are today, “until the Lord comes”. But collectively “we the people” have a problem. Fortunately this year is an election year, that can set the country on a new path. Congress has lost the teeth it had before this imperialistic President. The President has been seemingly deliberately misguided by bad advice from his VP and advisors. Corruption in high places (and low places like the Sheriff of Brunswick County, NC) has driven the confidence of the country to a new low. “We the people” need to stop beating up ourselves, looking for scapegoats and non-exiatant shadows, and renew our purpose as a country. For over 200 years the work started by the Founding Fathers has worked well. We have good people who want to help get this country moving again. It will have to be creative, and innovative for sure. I have my wishes and hopes, but only the ballot speaks for us all. Iraq, housing foreclosures, the falling economy, health care, security for seniors (as I am getting to be one), etc. these issues need prompt attention.
Of the issues discussed by previous contibutors to this subject, GREED seems to be the common underlying link. Whether it be in the economy, recent stock market companies failing their clients; why we really are in Iraq (oil); company failures such as Enron; government (look at how many congressmen have had their careers ended for greed); foreclosures (greed of lenders and investors/spectulators); and many more. How much more of our infrastructure needs to fail before it is replaced? When will all the residents of Mississippi, Alabama and rural Louisana get proper shelters from the devastation in 2005.
I couild go on and on. But the vision our Founders had is still a good and deceit vision. Peace and prosperity for all its citizens.
More government is never the best option, people made bad choices and now they must pay for it, yes the lenders where overly greedy going after people like they did, but you should be smart enough not to bite off more than you can chew. This is a free market system, not a government run system. It will take time to weed out all the worng that has been done and it will be a hard lesson for many people to learn, but that in now way means we should bail them!

I have a though about health care a security for seniors. Take the money spent on a war that 8 years ago we weren’t in, and put it in the social security fund. Whats that like 200 billion or more a year? No one has an answer on saaving this program but they sure as hell can give more money to the president for the war. We need to think about taking care of ourselves for once and stop trying to be world police. Face the facts, hardly any one in the world actually likes us.
I have to say that it’s easy for others to judge when they aren’t in those shoes. In my families case I was in the travel industry for 18 years, doing well and was laid off 9/18/01, just 7 days after 9/11. My husband is in the auto industry, no need to explain. No one is buying. We were doing amazing pre 9/11, due to those events and God blessing us with a child with Down syndrome, Autism and medical needs, our finances are shot. Foreclosure, bancruptcy isn’t a choice. I think the quote of “walk a mile in my shoes” or “those who live in glass homes” are appropriate. Don’t think that for one minute this can’t happen to you. It can, it might and hopefully it won’t. But having a government and/or public that believes that this is a choice isn’t making matters any better. Any relief for these families is appreciated. A second round is necessary. Federal and State spending for stupid things like a 1 mil. for a “trolly” system that our city mayor is proposing, 40+ mil. to stimulate Iraq’s economy etc. is what we need to get a handle on. Put that money into people who need it HERE in the US. Just my thought. ALso, for those making judgements, I was you 6 years ago. I was financially successful, responsible and judgemental, yet things changed and now my family struggles just to put food on the table, make monthly bills and keep our home. It isn’t something that happens to just people who live in impoverished areas or have lived their whole life on the system, it can happen to anyone. I just hope and pray it never happens to anyone else.
This is such a divisive issue. We are told that we had to bail out the big banks or a domino effect would have started. However, there is no help for homeowners really in sight. Meanwhile, if there was – it might set a bottom to this market. Losses would actually be able to be calculated. Banks would have a better sense of how much money was lost, as would investors. Right now, we still have the foreclosures occurring, and banks are still revising their balance sheets and other banks and investors are uncertain. Uncertainty in a market is not often a good thing.
It may be that giving homeowners some sort of relief may help our entire economy recover faster, but it is just one piece of the puzzle.
I also do not think it is fair to compare ourselves to others like this. For example, I have three advanced degrees, and I think you do too. A lot of the people I saw who took out these mortgages really had no clue what they were doing and at least a few of them did not really have the education needed to make good financial decisions.
Unfortunately, we are all paying the price for a failed regulatory system and poor educational system.
I’m with you on the first issue. But no one has touched on the second issue you raised.
“As for bridges, roads and transit? Yes, let’s fix our transit systems. Maybe then we won’t be quite so reliant on the need to fix bridges and roads… But now? In a fiscal crisis? Exactly how would that help our economy immediately?”
An ABC Poll: *
“Reports an average one-way commute time of 26 minutes (over an average distance of 16 miles)” – Round trip that means 32 miles a day. 5 days a week and 50 weeks a year comes to 8000 miles a year. That’s 2/3rds of the average American’s yearly mileage. With an efficient mass transit system in America, we could cut our gas usage by 2/3rds, demand for gas drops and the remaining 1/3rd we still use becomes much cheaper. A short walk or bike ride from a train or bus terminal would also help the obesity epidemic.
If this stimulus package could even give a glimmer of hope for an efficient public transportation system I would demand it.
As far as helping our economy, it won’t. But we also won’t have the money in however many years it takes for another bridge to collapse. So it’s either now or later.

When are you good people going to learn that NOTHING the Government does is to benefit America or Americans????? Billary and John’s plan are designed to get votes, while Barack’s plan is designed for the same reason. The only thing that WILL help is to get the Government out of our lives and out of our pockets!!!!! If they have a “tax holiday” on gas it will amount to 18 cents a gallon that will be passed on to the oil companies. The oil companies will in turn pass that on to the consumer IE: YOU and me!! Roads and bridges crumbling are the direct result of wasteful government spending where it is NOT needed like an illegal, unconstitutional, immoral, unjust war that is killing thousands and displacing millions of innocent people!!!!! Stop spending this money in Iraq and start spending it on useful projects in America!!!!!! America has enough oil and natural gas to support us for hundreds of years right here at home!!!! A 30 year moratorium on drilling and using this resource by the Government is what is happening to us!!!

Whoever said “we the people” are responsible for all the bad choise the government makes are CORRECT.
Whoever said “If you make bad decisions, I don’t judge. I make plenty. I do, however, resent having my money bail you out,” I concur.
Whoever said, “honestly i would much prefer tax dollars and government aid help out right here on these shores instead of abroad. we have been dumping tens if not hundreds of billions of dollars into the war and reconstruction efforts over there and for what? the majority of the muslim population hates the u.s.a. and wants us the hell out of there,” I concur.
With that being said, it doesnt matter how many opinions we have about this new second stimulus pymnt or any other fucked up decision the government makes, nothing will be done to change it, not even a new President. Sorry folks but thats the sad reality.
Kelly
It is definitely a humane idea to consider a second stimulus amount for those in need – people who are facing foreclosure. However it would be an unequal advantage to some to receive the help when there are people who have already lost their homes due to foreclosure. The current economic environment is definitely affecting the choices and decisions that people are making, and it would be decent of the Government to assist all, financially, through the approval of a second stimulus check. People should be rewarded both, for good choices and decisions, and for those who may not have made the correct decisions, they should be helped and given direction and advice to make better decisions.
Look you people…Look at the BIG PICTURE WE ARE ALL GETTING IT in THE BUTT You think the goverment cares about us.We need a way to solve the gas, foreclosures, food. My husband and i work hard as well and have 3 kids, still struggling..
I don’t think people should be bailed out for making bad choices. If you can’t read the fine print that is not my fault. I feel they can always rent and just not own. They need to lower taxes so that we can keep more of what we earn.
i think its a good idea to send out another Stimulus package because lower class citizens and middle class citizens need it more than the rich folks up in Beverly Hills, CA who are now living the good life that should rightfully belong to everybody. Shouldn’t it? Oh i know, they are living the good life because they are multi-billionaires and they have earned their keep.
BULL-SHIT!!!! Thats just f’n baloney. They are filthy, rotten, stinkin rich because they put their money into stocks and now they are milkin the poor people because of it. THAT SUCKS!!! because its the poor person and the middle class person who pay the price. I mean granted, i can see how some people would say, “don’t give money to those who live in like ‘south phoenix’ because all of them are just a bunch of drug addicts and dealers and own just about every gun and ammo that exists on the earth basically” so yeah, i agree, don’t give the drug addicts any money because they will only abuse it, but instead take the money from the druggies and give it to the needy. doesn’t that make sense? why take from the poor and give to the rich? why not take from the rich and give it to the poor. i can’t remember, but does it really say anything about being rich or poor in the bible? i don’t know, if you find it, maybe post it. i can’t remember that shit!
oh yeah and by the way, get rid of Obama, tell him to go home. He does not like the American Flag anyway and he works for the like militia and all of them in Iraq. He gets his so-called money and riches from the people in Iraq and Afghanistan and Iran people because thats is where most of his heritage comes from. Thats the truth. He is like on their side. Obama said, “get the troops out of Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran and send them home.” yeah okay, sure go ahead and do that after the US like totally demolished their county, but the Iraqis have called up George Bush and said to him, “If you take all of your people (whatever is left) and take them out of the country of Iraq and Afghanistan and all of the other countries who are so-called very pissed off at the US for doing what they did in the first place, then all of us people in Iraq, Iran and Afghanista, we promise, i mean we all promise you, George Bush and we promise all of the other people are are American Citizens, that we will not retaliate. We will be very nice to you all and we will not try to do anything to you. We are going to come to the US and say to everybody, “We have agreed to let bi-gons be bi-gons and we are all going to just forgive and forget. So, now lets be friends, alright.” then all of a sudden, they will say, they actually believed that we want to be their friend. yeah. right. and then all of a sudden, iraq and iran will say, ‘now…lets get ’em.” doesn’t that make sense? I mean, granted it sucks to have people over there like dying left and right, but the US people did not say to iraq, ‘if you want to like bomb our country, its alright. the people in the USA will tell you where to go and when to do this.” i don’t think that is even possible, but then again, who knows.’ so, i am thinking that if we listen to Obama saying to take the troops out of iraq, he might just call up the iraqi gov’t and be like,”we took our troops out of your country, can we now be friends. here shake my hand and lets be friends. what are doing by the way for lunch. do you want to go and catch a movie or something.” i mean, c’mon, don’t be that stupid. yeah, i mean McCain is not that much better than Bush, but the US does not seem to have a choice. its one or the other, its either McCain which a lot of people like or its Obama which some people like and others don’t. Does that mean that those who don’t like Obama are racist. I don’t think so. Perhaps, but i don’t believe in that. I think its best just to choose McCain since that is who will be in office anyway. I like McCain because he knows what he is doing, i don’t like Obama because his ancestors come from Iraq and he still has family over there who are telling him what to do and what not to do. So call up Obama and tell him to go back to Iraq where his whole family is anyway. thats something the press or the media is not going to tell you, because if they did, then most people would be like, ‘oh my gosh, he is one of them.’ and yeah he is. its the truth. So tell Obama to go home.
Wow.
Not only is none of that true, most of it didn’t make any sense either.
Get some help lady.
As for the many of you with the opinion that our money should be funneled overseas to help out, did you forget that this is OUR money. We work and pay taxes and those taxes should be used to make repairs to our infrastructure and stimulate our economy. If it’s so important to you to help in foreign affiars, donate your own money, independently. There is a HUGE amount of money going overseas from Americans who have chosen to do this. I, myself, sponsor a child overseas, on my just-above-poverty-level income. This whole thing goes back to the mindset that we are relieved of personal responsibility and that instead, the governement will take care of it. I have taken my action to help the less fortunate, so use my money for things I need, domestically. For the irresponsibility=foreclosure argument, I agree to some extent. If you can afford to, buy a home by all means. If you later can’t, sell it or get a second job. I can’t, so I didn’t. I work for a financial institution and I see a lot of bending-backwards lending to people that can barely afford it because we want the best for our members. But again, personal responsibility!!! You are more in control of the world around you than the Economist in the White House is. “When things go south, adapt to the warmer climate.”
Economic Stimulus crap! I got a whopping $17.50. Why? I paid my fair share of taxes. Don’t I deserve to get what everyone else got? So I work hard and got penalized for it. I’ll find out who voted for the limitation and I’ll make sure I never vote for them – for anything. Useless bureaucrats!
A second stimulus is a joke. Where is the money coming from? A government that doesn’t have the money? Oh wait, same place as it came from before – people like me.
I don’t want to say anything to make anyone mad, but as a homeowner and a mother of two I know that I have to make my house payment every month if that means to do without certain material items.. I think some people get to far in over their heads and can’t get out…
I do feel that we need to help the people that are losing their homes, but we also need to help everyone else… If interest rates would drop than I think we will see a difference in the economy.. Another thing that would help this Country and help homeowners, drop the price of fuel that’s why people can’t afford their homes all the money is spent on fuel and food. And for the military we need to quit spending money over there and get our troops home safe.. We done what we needed to do now bring them home. I thank them for all their hard work but enough is enough.. I don’t understand how our country can spend money on other countries and our own country is falling into depression…. So I say we all need help.. I get tired of working two jobs to make ends meet while people on welfare suck the system and their’s nothing wrong with them but being lazy… I would like to have some food stamps that would help my family….. Everyone that is trying to make ends meet needs help….
Sounds like some of the younger generation has a view about the president like lots of uneducated people living close to me. You can hear them say, My great grandpa was a Democrat, My grandpa, and my dad was a democrat, so am i. Ignorance is no excuse. Stop putting your trust in any organization. Democrats, Republicans, or Independents will feed you anything you want to hear, until they get elected. Try contacting them when they get in office. You’re nothing but a number to them. Wise up young people and check out each canidate for what they stand for. Murder is a sin, so are a lot more things. See why God destroyed two whole cities for their wrong doings. I’m fifty seven. Not looking forward to a younger generation running our country. Blame the President. Look in the mirror and see where the real problem lies.
one of the reason’s people are loseing thier homes is lack of jobs,i live in maine and alot of our jobs are leaveing, it’s hard to find a job in northern maine.if we get another stimulus check we have to pay taxes on it,i say we pull our troops out of war,why fight for them we destroy the country and then we rebuild for them whats the sence in that, it’s costing our country alot of money.as far as feed the other countries, have you ever once heard on tv ect..that we have starving childern in our country and homeless childern?i say bring our troops home.another thing why cant our president just make more money, should not be hard to do it’s only paper.another thing completely off the subject, but they stop cigarettes commercials on tv ect…. and smokeing will kill you and others,i see they have not banned alcahol commercials or talk about how bad alcahol is,how many people die driving down the road from smoking a cigarette how many people do they kill in a car accident from a cig? my view is you can smoke and drive and be safe,if you drink and drive you can kill yourself as well as many other’s.my point is how many people are you gonna kill smokeing and driving and how many will you kill drinking and driving.ban alcahol commercials as well.smokeing is’nt gonna kill you no faster then alcahol.you can smoke a cigerette and not get violent like you do alcahol. thank-you all for listening.
I think the american people should be taken care of before other country’s. We are the one’s that are hurting because of the war. and yes they are spending to much money over their in Iraq and we are suffering from it. It’s so hard to go to the grocerie store to buy grocies because you money don’t go anywhere anymore. Then look at the gas prices. This is very poor of our goverment to let their on people suffer. I work a 40 hour week job and my husband is disable. We dont have very much money coming in because the goverment wouldn’t give him his check when he first became disable. This is not the way God intented for this country to be. Read your Bible and see what it tell’s you
I say bring on the second stimulus package and do it quickly! I’m tired of the 6-figure income tier getting all of the breaks and I’m thrilled that Obama is President Elect…now we will ALL have a chance! I am in an excellent income bracket and I still get hammered…I’m over it! I’m over seeing middle-class people slowly lose all they have worked so hard for and I’m over seeing upper-class people continue to thrive in this market. YES WE CAN!!!
Has the second stimulus check been passed yet?
I work hard everyday and it is hard for me to make ends meet. I dont think people are losing their home because of poor choices it is because of all the rich people that are getting richer off of the poor hard working people that are just trying to survive and keep a roof over their heads the lawmakers need to get off of their behinds and pass another stimulus package to help the ones that are out here everyday busting their buts just to keep the rich to get richer and here I am getting futher and futher behind because things are getting higher and my wages are going up. There is something that needs to be done now or we hard working American are going to lose everything that we hoped to leave to a children and grandchildren. WAKE UP PEOPLE AND THE CONGRESS AND REPERSENTATIVES AND SENATORS AND DO SOMETHING BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE
I think that the government needs to stop predatory lending and let the people who face forclosure deal with their own mess. Unfortunately if they had paid attention to what they were signing they would have known this was inevitable. I think that the government should do more to help the people who are low income and can’t even afford to buy a house in the first place. I am in favor of making refinance options available to these people, but I am not in favor of a “bail out”. Look how well it worked for those multi-billion dollar companies…… oh wait, it didn’t work at all. As far as Iraq goes I too have a brother who has made his career in the military and he stands behind our efforts. He has been there. If he believes in it, so do I. And I most certainly believe that if we were not over there they would be over here!
I think it important that the goverment help all those who make less then 250,ooo a year those familys need it more then any one else. We
we all work hard, and we all make mistakes, So what if they tried to buy better houses and cars. These familys are lost there JOBS, because of the economy. Not because there lazy they want to work. The goverment should help be fore its to late.
The thought of our tax dollars going out to different countries realy upsets me because there are so many people that need our help here in the U.S.A., Yes I would like to have a second stimulous check package, but the thought of it going to the deficite is a bad thing, it is high enough, thanks to the war that has been going on. I hope and pray that Obama can get us out of this mess that we are in. I blame the gov’t for the problems we have today, it may have not gotten like this if it wasn’t for the unfair trade act.
Look at the facts people, look at history. We are heading directly for another stock market crash and another depression. Our govt cares more about bailing out GM than it does helping the people. Why? Because their pockets get fatter that way. They only care about what benefits them the most. Go watch how many envelopes are passed by lobbyist to our law makers and you will understand everything. If something is not done soon it will be too late. Our country will revolt against its own govt and we will be in turmoil
I am married and have a small child. I lost my job as a CNA and my husband was injured causing me to loose my job because i had to stay home and take care of him. I feel that everyone in need should get a second stimulus check. I am not a homeowner but i face the same challenges as everyone else. It is hard with me not working and my husband gets SSD now but that is not enough for us to survive off of. I can’t even qualify for foodstamps. So I am upset because we as people need this help badly. I dont want to loose the little bit that i do have because of the economy.
Why does the Government just pump up the presses and make more Money?? Its only paper!!
The way I see it, a second stimulus probally would be benefical, but isnt spending money we really don’t have the reason we are in this mess. The whole foreclosure issue is a double edge sword because both parties are responsible. The reasons as to why foreclusure happnes is extensive. Instead of charging PMI insurance on homes that only covers the banks; why not have some sort of insurance factoried in to where both parties are not at a loss. The banks get their money and the people can keep their homes.
