Our next tax trivia question is:
For the 2006 tax year, which state’s population filed the fewest number of individual tax returns reporting adjusted gross income of more than $1 million?
Don’t forget: the first correct answer wins free CCH tax prep software.
What’s your guess?
Wild guess: Mississippi?
Great guess but no…
Arkansas?
West Virginia?
Wow. The only others that come to mind are Alaska and North Dakota. Both have relatively high median incomes (especially AK) but probably not a lot of $1 million AGIs.
David, You’re the winner! It’s North Dakota with only 333 such returns submitted. California, on the other hand, had 52,590.
Vermont?
