It’s finally springtime here in Philadelphia. The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming and (cough, cough) the pollen levels are crazy. And with springtime, my schedule picks up. In fact, there’s a lot happening here these days. You’ve probably noticed that the blog is a little sparse. I’ve gotten your notes about what’s happening, so I’m opening up the Sunday Mailbag to talk about it.

Taxpayer asks:
Hey Tax Girl,
I check your blog every morning. Lately, you haven’t been posting as much. Is everything okay?
And in response to my last article, Taxpayer asks:
Great article but the article itself did not come through the feed, just the title… I clicked through to Forbes to read the article. Was this the intention?
taxgirl says:
First, thanks so much for taking the time to read/express concern/write notes about the blog.
Here’s the scoop. My last day with AOL’s WalletPop was on April 27 (the effective date of my resignation). For the last couple of years, I blogged for taxgirl.com (content and stories that I created, wrote and owned) and then wrote different pieces for AOL (content they owned). I enjoyed my stint at AOL a lot – there were a lot of wonderful folks there. However, it was a great deal of work. In March of this year alone, I wrote 23 stories for AOL in addition to what I wrote for taxgirl. It was wearing me out and I felt like my content over on taxgirl was suffering a bit.
The folks at Forbes have offered me the opportunity to blog as taxgirl over on their platform. This is a wonderful opportunity for me and one that I was excited (read: lots of girly screaming) to have the chance to explore.
As I explained before, I’ll eventually be changing the look of the site so that it’s compatible with what’s happening at Forbes. We’re working out the technical side of things (mainly because I have a *lot* of content) but for now, I’m maintaining both sites independently.
I didn’t realize that the feed wouldn’t travel as nicely. I’m still working on a fix and I promise it will get sorted out. I appreciate your patience. In the meantime, you can check out my taxgirl site on Forbes here. Of course, don’t forget about my Facebook page and twitter.
So, hopefully, that explains a little bit about what’s going on. I do value my readers and I appreciate your comments and concerns – they make me a better taxgirl!

Taxpayer asks:
Did you see this?
taxgirl says:
Yes. And for now, that’s all I have to say about it. For now.

Taxpayer asks:
Guess you’re happy about the Phillies?
taxgirl says:
Oh yeah. I’m not even in mourning for Jayson Werth anymore. I still have a mad crush on Shane Victorino which is closely followed by one for Raoul Ibanez, say what you want about his batting average.

Taxpayer asks:
Hey,
I saw on Twitter that you ran the BSR. Congrats!
taxgirl says:
Thanks! I had an amazing time. Philly is such a great city for running. If you’re looking for a race to run next year, I highly recommend it. I was worried that I would lose my running mojo at about mile 7 but the vibe was so amazing, that didn’t happen. I made all 10 miles – and in a pretty decent time. 😉

Taxpayer asks:
I saw your articles in Time. I just have one question: will you marry me?
taxgirl says:
Wow, my second marriage proposal on the blog!
Thanks, that’s terribly flattering. But I can’t take all the credit for the popularity of those Time pieces. My editor for the pieces (Stephen Gandel) had a lot to do with it. And marrying both of us might just be weird.

Thanks for reading.
Before you go: be sure to read my disclaimer. Remember, I’m a lawyer and we love disclaimers.
If you have a question, here’s how to Ask The Taxgirl.
Congratulations on the gig with Forbes! I’ve started following your blog lately and I’ve always thought it was very well written. Humorous and witty, yet still very informative and up-to-date. My question is… with all of it’s popularity, with all of your great accounting tips and advice, why does it seem that no one ever comments?! I’m often the first one to do so. I know you said you were also writing for AOL. So, is there another place that people are reading and commenting on your work?
