The IRS has announced that you can now place orders for the 2012 IRS Tax Calendar for Small Business and Self Employed, Publication 1518, beginning July 18.
The 18-page calendar is filled with useful tax information for small businesses. In addition to alerting you to filing deadlines for payroll, excise and income taxes, the calendar highlights changes in the Tax Code for the year. Each month focuses on a different tax topic from Travel and Other Business Expenses in April to Tips on Wage Reporting in December.
Calendars are available in English and Spanish.
To order a full-color version go to the IRS Small Business Products Ordering page. The calendars will ship in late-November. If you can’t wait that long, you can also download the calendar as a pdf – but be prepared, it’s just over 4 MB.
Of course, I popped over to the site to check it out over the weekend and there was an “Out of Stock” label on the website. I dutifully waited until today to check again and it’s still there. I assume that will become available to order sometime today but if you don’t want to wait, try calling the IRS at 1.800.829.3676 and ask for Pub 1518 (Pub 1518SP for the Spanish version). I gave a call over this morning and was told that it was back ordered but you can still place an order (I did, the rep was very friendly and helpful) and the calendar will ship out as soon as it becomes available.
While you’re at the site, don’t forget to take advantage of other IRS Publications for small businesses and the self-employed including A Virtual Small Business Tax Workshop Publication 1066C – you can order it online as a CD or walk through the workshop online.
The IRS makes several resources available to taxpayers throughout the year. I’ll post them as they become available (or, er, claim to be available).
