On My Way To BlogHer!

Kelly Phillips ErbJuly 17, 2008

I’m officially on my way to BlogHer!

The flight was remarkably full this morning as we pulled out of Philly. I guess that San Francisco is a pretty popular destination – and why not? The pilot announced that it was a chilly 51 degrees at take off – a far cry from the 93 degrees that they’re expecting in Philly.

I’m typing this on my new MacBook. The new keyboard is taking some getting used to. My old laptop had few discernible letters on the keyboard anymore – a product of lots of typing and occasionally (ok, more than occasionally) being ripped off by my children.

I made some noise about borrowing hubby’s laptop for the trip. Apparently this was more than he could bear so he brought a new one home just last night.

A few things are evident: this is a much newer screen, larger and brighter. My eyes are actually finding it a bit tough to adjust. I have battery life (excuse the giddiness). And perhaps most exciting, when I was charging up last night, I didn’t have to prop up the power supply to make sure that it stayed in the outlet. Yep, this is pure luxury.

Not such pure luxury is my trip on United. I haven’t flown United since last year when I went to Chicago. Let’s just say that things haven’t changed all that much (except for the fact that on a SIX hour flight, you have to pay for your meals) – and that’s not good thing. It’s a bit cramped and the air is apparently stuck at one speed – super fast. I feel like I’m on some kind of photo shoot where they want my hair to blow around a bit: Tax Attorneys of the ABA.

Three hours in – just three more to go. Maybe I can get some work done?
