Controversial Octuplet Mom’s Doctor Accused Of Tax Fraud

Kelly Phillips ErbFebruary 11, 2009May 6, 2020

Octuplet mom Nadya Suleman is causing furor this week in California – again. A number of reports appear to confirm that the hospital where the octuplets were born has requested reimbursement from Medi-Cal, the state’s Medicaid program, for the care of premature babies. While no numbers were officially disclosed, experts in the care of premature births estimate the cost of care for the octuplets at $1.3 million. California is already struggling with significant budget problems and taxpayers are likely to balk at being asked to pay up for such a controversial procedure.

But Suleman isn’t even the biggest tax newsmaker in this story: Michael Kamrava, the doctor responsible for implanting the six embryos (yes, there were eight babies, two embryos split), has been fingered as a tax evader.

Shirin Afshar is one of two former employees who have filed suits against Kamrava. In Afshar’s suit, which was apparently settled, she alleged that Kamrava engaged in systematic insurance and tax fraud. Among the detailed allegations in the suit was that patients at Kamrava’s clinic were required to pay in cash. The cash was given to Kamrava’s wife, and recorded on a separate set of books, for the primary purpose of avoiding paying federal income tax. The amount of income allegedly unreported totaled about $400,000. The IRS has not commented on the matter, which is not unusual, as civil tax matters are not generally made public.

I think the implant Doctor should be billed for the hospital bill. And… pay child support.

…was this some type of medical experiment? IVF or invitro vertilization costs upwards of $20,000. Who paid for that? Worthy childless couples can’t get it because insurance companies won’t pay for it? …what the!!??? This woman is clearly incapable of rational decisions and what’s up with her face? Plastic surgery? Who’s paying for that? Something is so totally wrong here on so many levels.

This is the comment I left at Nadya Suleman’s begging for money website where not surprisingly people are unable to view the comments left by others:

You’re a disgusting loser. You should have been a patient at Metro psychiatric hospital not a low level employee. And any “Doctor” who talked to you for more than two minutes would have realized you’re a sad, unhappy, mentally unstable, sociopathic useless twat and refused to inseminate you as you are a completely unfit mother as your very own parents attest to. You couldn’t be a mother to those six and you relied on your parents to handle your dirty work for you. How disgusting if a useless irresponsible twat could you possibly be? You certainly give new definition to the word loser and the clinic in Beverly Hills should be sued and any useless doctor that had any decision in this or any part of it should immediately and permanently have their licenses revoked by the medical board. I have a number of REAL doctors in Beverly Hills and if I’m anywhere near that “clinic” I’m going to walk straight in and let them have a piece of my mind. It’s absolutely pathetic you’re such a selfish loser and the very fact that you blame your parents for your “disconnection” when they’re the ones actually caring for your children not your worthless twat stupid ass says more than anyone will ever need to know about you. And normally I wouldn’t say this – but in your case I will – you’re fat and ugly too.

I’m writing a film partially set in a psychiatric hospital (see website) so I know of what I speak.

And I estimate the cost to the taxpayers of this atrocity at up to a million dollars a week – while the very same Kaiser Permanente assholes that house this sack of dung refuse VITAL care to other patients as a routine matter.

What in the world was the Doctor, miss Nayda and her parents thinking about when she had the inplant put in her. How is she going to take care of them.
The Doctor need to be put in jail or paid for the care of the children.

    Hey everyone,
I’m just as pissed off as the next guy. But rather than just post your angry comments, try to vent all that into something more constructive. Please write or email the state and government agencies that are considering giving our hard earned money to this parasite to cover her medical bills, etc. If she has income from interviews, etc., she should be forced to pay her own damm medical bills. And cancel the food stamps! I can barely feed my family in this economy, I don’t want to feed hers, too! C’mon people, let’s do something about this!
