Tax Trivia: Private Collections

Kelly Phillips ErbMarch 11, 2009May 16, 2020

We have a winner! See comments!

Our next tax trivia question is:

The IRS announced this month that they would no longer be using the private collections companies authorized during the Bush administration. The Bush administration was not the first to have tried using private companies for collection. Which former President also authorized private companies for collection, a program which ended in scandal?

Don’t forget: the first correct answer wins free CCH tax prep software.

What’s your guess?

    Dear Kelly:

When I try to contact you on all the different links, I get a system error message from yahoo. That’s why I left the comment here. My email address is as stated. I don’t understand why it keeps bouncing. I’m getting the taxgirl email feeds. I’ll check back here for comments.

    Thanks a bunch,

    J. Summers
