It’s Tax Trivia: Win Free Tax Prep Software!

Kelly Phillips ErbJanuary 19, 2010May 18, 2020

It’s that time of year: giveaways for tax season!

I have 20 access codes for CCH CompleteTax to give away, thanks to the folks at CCH. Each code is good for tax prep for one 2009 federal and one 2009 state tax return, up through the top-level Premium version of CompleteTax.

Over the next several days, I will post tax trivia questions at random times. The first reader to correctly submit an answer for the respective question wins. So, yeah, that means 20 winners throughout the giveaway.

Here are the rules:

  • Post your answer in the comments section which corresponds to the question. While I love receiving your emails, they won’t count for purposes of the contest; similarly, answers on Facebook or Twitter won’t qualify.
  • Timestamps apply whenever you leave your comment, not when your comment is approved. If your comment goes to moderation, don’t panic. A comment waiting in the queue will still qualify.
  • Guess as many times as you’d like. Even if you don’t know… Just guess.
  • My normal comment policy applies (you can read it here). I have standards, you know.
  • You must leave a valid email address (it will not be made public) in the comment form together with your guess so that I can contact you if you are a winner.
  • If there is no winning answer for a question by February 15, that question will be void for purposes of the giveaway. I want to make sure that I give away all of these free tax prep codes in time for folks to get their taxes done.
  • You can only win one code for the duration of the giveaway. You’re welcome to continue to guess after you win but after you win one code, you’ll just have the right to say that you knew the answer first. That doesn’t get you much these days but you’re welcome to it.
  • Keeping that in mind (the whole one winner per contest rule), don’t give up just because someone else has posted the correct answer. They might not be eligible to win (again).
  • And unlike American Idol, nothing about this contest is subjective. My ruling as to the correct answer is final.

Have fun and good luck!
